Back in 2016, we took a Hidden London tour of the disused Jubilee Line platforms at Charing Cross station

If you've ever walked past one of the many nondescript but somehow intreguing locked doors that line the tunnels and platfoms of the tube, you might have thought about what's behind it. Most of the time, it's probably a cupboard. Sometimes though, it's the entrance to an entire section of a station that's no longer in use.

If you go down the escalator form the ticket hall at charing cross tube station, you'll see two of those doors. Beyond them you'll find the disused Jubilee line platfomrs that haven't been open since November 1999.

If you're filiming something and you need an old style Underground station, TFL might let you use Aldwych, just down the Strand. If you want something a bit more modern, you'll get Charing Cross.

Venturing into the disused section of the station isn't the only part of this tour - it's still a big part of the rest of the stations ventilation and maintence areas, and you get a quick look around those. There's some really noisy shots incoming, it was bloody dark.

A little bonus stop above the active Northern Line platform, looking down through one of those big vents you'll see if you happen to look up next time you're waiting for the tube.

We've done a few of the Hidden London tours, operated by the London Transport Museum. They're always a great glimpse into bits of the Tube network you wouldn't usually get to see!
