It took a while for me to realise one of the potential advantages of living in Hoxton during the lockdown was easy access to the city and it's deserted streets.

Should probably start with a disclaimer here, all of these places are accessible to us on a bike or by walking within the 'hour' (give or take) of allowed exercise time. We spent the start of the lockdown period avoiding heading to the City, or Shoreditch, but quickly realised it was much easier to abide by the social distancing there than it is in the very densely pupulated residential areas up near our flat!

It was probably Spitalfields and Liverpool Street station that really show quite how deserted it was, the City is usually quiet on a weekend and while standing in the middle of the road to take a photo isn't usually possible, standing where I did in either Spitalfields or Liverpool Street Station would usually result in a lot of angry tutting.

Taking some lockdown pictures has been a nice release from some of the stresses and strains of living through the Covid Lockdown, but it also makes you realise how lucky I am to work in a job I can safely do from my flat. It's enabled me to get some pictures I wouldn’t usually have been able to take, but I'll be bloody happy when we're back to not being able to shoot them.
